This pillow sham has been created using the Pine Burr Technique. The Pine Burr Quilt is a unique folded quiltmaking technique and is the state quilt of Alabama. The fabric used to make the sham was dyed using rust pieces found around Hale County, AL. The front features the pine burr motif, while the back is made from solid rust dyed fabric and features an envelope enclosure. The result is a true heirloom and portrait of a slice of the rural South. The insert is down.
